Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cook book writer and Emmy award-winning host of Food Networks current oldest show Barefoot Contessa that began in 2002, and has been aired for 27 seasons until 2020. Ina started her career at the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policies as well as the budget. Her first impression was that her job interesting and stimulating however she soon lost interest, and purchased a tiny food specialty store named Barefoot Contessa. Prior to selling the company, she spent more than 18 years building it to a highly successful store. Many magazines and cookbooks came later. Between them the Food Network show was also a success. In addition, she sells everything from equipment to cooking supplies and containers. Ina is a cook who has learned by herself that hasn't attended a cooking school and has never worked in an kitchen. Her name is associated with her casual way of creating and entertaining. The most well-known recipes she has created are the lemon chicken that she grills in a skillet and Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
